Local to me is the place I am most familiar with, which to me is Cleveland, Ohio. I have grown up in Cleveland my whole life and although now I live in Akron, Ohio I still consider Cleveland my home versus Akron because this is where most of my family live and my mom and dad are both from. Catie and I are planning on working on our webquest together and we thought the Cleveland Zoo would be a fun quest for elementary students. We will talk about the different animals and species and the endangered and extinct aniamls. I think the students will be very interested and it will be a fun quest to do along with that we are both familiar with the Cleveland Zoo.

I am going to have gradebook application. It is a great app that has class roster, grades, and calendar.
Also, I will use a discussion board application named Tangler that is similar to a chat room, but it directed toward the class. Also, I will use an application to for a whiteboard, it will show notes on the board from that day. And, I will use the application where the students can share each others notes. I will try to find as many apps as i can that incorporate discussions and notes because this math course is very challenging and there will be many questions about them.
The models I experienced as a student retain their significance in many ways. Prensky challenges my assumptions about teaching and makes good points stating how we as teachers need to be aware of all things in a classroom. It seems easier than it is to become a teacher but he makes it clear that it is not as easy as one may think.
I don't know what webliography is or Digg are.

I interviewed my uncle John who is a professor at Ohio State University. He teaches a math course there and I am planning on helping him make a web site for his class. The Web 2.0 applications that I am thinking about incorporating into the web site facebook and a discussion board. I am going to look for apps that can show notes on a blackboard. I want to have different pages for a syllabus, class roster, contact information, and much more.

I think a large range of Web 2.0 should be integrated in the class. Different applications that would be important to put on a website for a classroom would be a calendar, contact list, email, grade book, discussion board, personal information and a syllabus. A good way for me to learn is to be very organized and understanding the assignments and when they are due. I think the best way to communicate with my professor is by knowing the teacher is understanding and willing to help if I need it. It is important to have teachers respond to email and maybe even have a chat room where the class can talk back and forth with eachother and the other students in the class. I like being in classrooms where the students are very integrated with each other. I like when it is a friendly and comfortable environment. Communication in the classroom is one of the most important things for the relationship of the students to the professors and the students with each other.
